Stathis accepts instructions across a wide range of property and social housing matters.
He has extensive advocacy, drafting and advisory experience in these areas of law having worked as a county court advocate and then in-house within the social housing team of a top 50 law firm.
Stathis has acted for a wide variety of private and social landlords assisting with various housing management issues including disrepair claims, possession matters (rent arrears, ASB and failed succession) and injunctions, both with and without notice.
He is particularly experienced in defending disrepair matters, regularly offering sensible and pragmatic advice alongside robust defences. He has also appeared in costs hearings and has achieved reductions to bill of costs.
Recent cases
TDC v S – Provided advice and drafted pleadings for a without notice injunction, including an exclusion against a defendant who was threatening residents.
BCP v TW – Secured an injunction and related undertakings following trial. The ASB stemmed from a fencing dispute between neighbours.
BCHA v M – Secured a no fault possession order for a housing association at a final hearing, following multiple years of litigation.
