A busy week for Chambers. We are sending a team of five to Leeds next week for the annual Chartered Institute of Trading Standards event from the 18th-20th of June.

Mark Harrison (Senior Clerk), Edward Elton, Amber Athill, Laura Duff and Ned Sillett will all be attending to answer any and all queries.

Good luck to our current Pupil Grace Coupland who is currently scaling Mount Kilimanjaro – we wish her well.

Within our work groups Syan Ventom was in the news after securing hefty fines of £29 000 against pig farmers for a number of animal welfare offences.

Mark Florida James successfully defended two cases – one on the basis of duress concerning Class A drugs and one on two charges of aggravated arson.

Finally our Head of Housing, Amy Kelly, successfully defended an application for a high value rent repayment order in the First Tier Tribunal, the Tribunal accepting arguments concerning the applicability of a selective licensing scheme in Hammersmith and Fulham.
